Last week, the Supreme Court turned its back on 50 years of progress and stripped nearly 7 million Texan women of autonomy over their bodies.

The Texas abortion ban is a template for overturning Roe v. Wade and, if we don’t step up, the GOP is prepared to instate copy-cat bills across the country: Florida’s Senate already announced that they will pass a similar law.

Not only does the Texas bill ban abortions at six weeks of pregnancy (when many are not aware they are pregnant), the new law also places a $10,000 bounty on anyone aiding in an abortion. This hostile and dangerous bill will disproportionately affect low-income women of color across Texas and they need our help.

Texas is just phase one in the GOP’s plan to control women’s bodies. We need to fight back now to protect women’s reproductive rights in Texas and across the country.
