Last month, the US Department of Education Office for Civil Rights announced their intention to administer the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) for a second consecutive year in 2021–22.
This unprecedented action to collect data on educational opportunities and equity from every school district highlights how vital this information is for pandemic recovery efforts.
Policymakers, education leaders, advocates, and families use data from the CRDC to measure progress toward equity goals, enforce civil rights protections, and inform communities.

Find out why this Civil Rights Data Collection is important for improving equity and monitoring recovery efforts, and how states can support districts in this process.
