Today, the U.S. House of Representatives is taking another critical step forward in bringing transformative change to children, women, and families. As House committees begin to work out details of the budget reconciliation package in a series of mark-up sessions, they are responding to the urgent need to invest boldly in our country’s economic recovery and secure a more equitable future for millions of families, children, women, young adults of color, and people with low incomes.

This afternoon, Stephanie Schmit will serve as a panelist at a National Head Start Association and Children’s Equity Project Congressional briefing entitled, “Head Start and Universal PreK: What We Know and What We Need.”

On September 23, Molly Bashay and Whitney Bunts will give presentations and moderate at the National Alliance to End Homelessness conference. Molly’s workshop is titled “Connecting People Experiencing Homelessness to Employment” and Whitney’s is titled “Unwinding the Intersection of Homelessness and Criminal Justice Involvement.”
