Here’s the latest update: Democratic AGs are fighting back against extremist abortion bans.
Friend, we told you we would keep you updated and we need to tell you about this breaking news:
Yesterday, a coalition of 21 Democratic Attorneys General filed a legal brief against South Carolina’s six-week abortion ban.
This is massive news, team – Dem AGs are continuing their fight for reproductive rights and access back to the courtroom.
These fights aren’t new for Dem AGs – just last year, Dem AGs fought alongside activists against Louisiana Republicans’ attempts to restrict access to abortions. And yes, the Supreme Court sided with abortion rights activists and the Dem AGs that filed in their support.
But, as Dem AGs fight for the right and access to an abortion, Republican AGs are doing everything they can to cut access to reproductive health.
Indicted Republican Texas AG Ken Paxton was a leading defender of Texas’ six-week abortion ban that the Supreme Court allowed to go into effect. He’s up for reelection next year.
Montana’s extremist Republican AG Austin Knudsen just asked courts to dismiss lawsuits filed by Planned Parenthood against new abortion restriction laws. He’s up for reelection in 2024.
And all across the country countless pro-Trump Republican AGs, like Indiana AG Todd Rokita, have applauded restrictive laws on reproductive rights and access to reproductive care. Next year, there are more than 30 AG seats up that we can’t allow Republicans to win.
DAGA is the first committee to
only support pro-choice candidates, so when we elect Dem AGs we know they will fight for the right and access to an abortion. But we need your help to win key races and elect more Dem AGs.
Thanks for reading this update and we promise we will have more to share when we get the news.

Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and with more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in the next two years, we need your support – will you chip in today?
