Another WIN! The potential bill (AB1102) that would have
allowed employers to require EUA vaccines
is also dead for the session!
But keep the pressure on - mandates are coming to a city near you!!
Got to local Board of Supervisor and School Board meetings
and get people to vote Yes on the Recall
A Voice for Choice Advocacy got word yesterday just before the Sacramento Rally that Assembly Member Evan Low has decided not to move forward with the potential bill that would have amended current state discrimination statute (Section 12940 of the Government Code), allowing employers in California to require Emergency Use Authorized vaccines for employees, interns, apprentices or those seeking unpaid work experience, as well as requiring a vaccine passport. However, similar to Buffy Wicks, he is committed to working on it over the fall and coming back with a revised proposed bill either in a special session or in January. A Voice for Choice Advocacy believes there will be other vaccine bills introduced next year such as a requirement for 7th graders to get the COVID vaccine in order to attend school. If Governor Newsom is still in office after September 14th, 2021 these bills will be passed, and they will become a reality.
We have to keep the pressure on!
Please take the following three actions:
1) Get active on the Yes on the Recall Campaign through Rescue California (https://rescuecalifornia.org/). Regardless of your political affiliation, you should be concerned for the future of California if Governor Newsom is not recalled. Our legislature, both Assembly and Senate have a super Democrat majority and our Governor is also Democrat, which means there are no checks and balances. Anything the Democrats want to do they will get done. Furthermore, Governor Newsom has declared a State of Emergency since March 2020 and thereby legally has the power to order anything he wants, which he has. If Governor Newsom is not recalled, you will be guaranteed more vaccine mandates, more lockdowns, and more restrictions on businesses. There are strong replacement candidates, who have spoken out against mandated vaccines and who have said they would stop the state of emergency immediately. The change will come regardless of who is elected, but that can only happen if Governor Newsom is recalled.
2) Go to your County Board of Supervisors meetings and your local school board meetings. Find your County Board of Supervisor information at Stand Up Califorina! (https://standupcalifornia.com/unite) and join your local county group to coordinate efforts.
3) Set up a meeting with your California Assembly member and Senator to discuss the potential medical mandates that could be introduced next year. Find who your legislators are here: http://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/ Sign up for their coffee mornings or town hall meetings. When meeting with your legislators, be sure to be professional and bring information that can be substantiated. A Voice for Choice Advocacy will be putting a legislative package together in the next few weeks that you can use.
