When I was growing up in Jefferson City, Missouri, my family struggled. My sister was born with a heart condition. The hospital bills kept coming and my parents eventually went bankrupt.

But then our neighbors and friends lifted us up. They gave me the chance to make something of myself, so I did.

I became a U.S. Marine to honor those who had given me so much. But every time I came home, from Iraq and then from Afghanistan, things had changed. The community I loved had been hollowed out, jobs shipped away for Wall Street profits.

For decades, corrupt Republican politicians like Eric Greitens and Josh Hawley have dominated our politics. While everyday people paid the price for twenty years of war in Afghanistan with our lives and tax dollars, the liars who kept us there cashed in. Some people call that politics. I call it war profiteering.

Well Missourians have had enough.
