Dear John,

Each year, fellow colleagues, allies, and friends come together to celebrate our shared work for economic, racial, and climate justice at the ALIGN Movement Builders Awards. I’m honored to be named one of this year’s Movement Builders, alongside Dr. Lara Skinner, Director of the Worker Institute’s Labor Leading on Climate Initiative at Cornell ILR, and Assemblymember Karines Reyes and Senator Michael Gianaris, champions of the groundbreaking NY HERO Act.

Throughout the pandemic, ALIGN has been doing invaluable work of organizing coalitions and campaigns that yield inspiring wins that grow worker power, build pathways to a green economy, and hold corporations accountable to our communities.

Work I have done with ALIGN to hold corporations like Walmart,  Amazon and others accountable has led to so much success. The passage of the NY HERO Act is a monumental achievement in protecting the health and dignity of workers. This legislation will not only protect our members, but empower workers to organize and fight for their rights.

ALIGN is building a stronger, united movement in New York that creates pathways toward bold, transformative changes that we need in our time of climate catastrophe and economic inequality. Join me in celebrating the progress we are making together and supporting ALIGN in building our movement.
