Friend -- If you want to know the difference between us and the map manipulators, look no further than how we spent our time in the past few months. It's really quite simple. Our people-powered movement is facing special interests dedicated to propping up a minority and its illegitimate power.

Pitch in to tip the scales in the fight for fair maps back to the people.

Slate recently reported on leaked audio of an August meeting hosted by a Koch-affiliated organization named "ALEC." In the meeting, map manipulators on a panel described to legislators an elaborate strategy to destroy evidence so it can't be used in litigation and ways to appear non-partisan in advance of defending their rigged maps in court.

What were we up to? In August and September, we recruited over 5,000 Founding Members of Redistricting U to fund the training initiative. [FOR FOUNDING MEMBERS: I'm so grateful that you were one of them.] With that support, we launched the first of our 21-city trainings and have already trained hundreds of activists who will work on the front-lines to secure fair maps for the next decade.

Spot the difference, friend? We're working with volunteers to achieve fair maps that allow voters to pick their politicians. Map manipulators are working behind closed doors for districts where they pick the voters.

While our opposition is huddling with consultants, lobbyists, and lawyers on how to mount their next partisan gerrymandering campaign, you'll find us mobilizing our grassroots volunteers and supporters so we can push for transparency during the redistricting process.

Just last week, I was in North Carolina discussing tactics to end gerrymandering with supporters at local churches and universities. This past weekend, our organizers hosted another wave of Redistricting U trainings. And in just a few weeks, our volunteer network will be mobilizing to help elect fair-map candidates in critical 2019 elections.

We value transparency. But we need your continued support to fight the map manipulation campaign taking place behind closed doors.
