Reviewing the 2019 legislative session outcomes.

October 21, 2019

Good afternoon, John -

We just received some good news out of Austin. As you might have heard, the Democratic Party of Texas is suing me. It is a frivolous lawsuit in which the Democrats have alleged no wrongdoing on my part, but are nonetheless suing me because the unethical House Speaker Dennis Bonnen proposed a quid pro quo agreement I rejected and made public.

The judge in the case is the former chairwoman of the Travis County Democratic Party, so we were not surprised when she gave the Democrats – despite not having any case against me! – the go-ahead to continue their assault against me.

Just this morning the Third Court of Appeals issued a temporary stay on the judge’s order. This means we must keep fighting.

Make no mistake: The Democrats are trying to bankrupt me and, we learned in court, ultimately want to gain access to our donor list. Like the fascist thugs the Democrats are, they want to “dox” and attack our donors.

Again, this is only a temporary “win” from the Third Court of Appeals. We must work and fight harder if we’re going to push back against the Democrats and their evil plans.

I need your help [[link removed]]!

We now have 10 days to make our case before the Third Court of Appeals, which means my lawyers and I have to be burning the midnight oil if we’re going to beat the Democrats back.

The Austin sewer-dwellers don’t want citizens holding both Democrat and Republican lawmakers accountable. With all that in mind, please consider a special gift to our legal defense fund [[link removed]] as we stand up to those who would silence Texans.

We can only win this fight if we fight to win.
