Show me the Money: Proto calls out high ranking Congresswoman on her failure to deliver relief to her home state
Connecticut- Making headlines in CT are both the impacts from record flooding following Tropical Storm Ida AND the lack of response from the Federal Delegation and White House. Connecticut State Republican Party Chairman Ben Proto weighed in on the situation:
"This is irony at its finest. Since the end of 2020, the Constitution State has touted its enhanced national standing with a full complement of federal officials sharing the same party designation as the President. Most notably, Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro was appointed Chair of the Appropriations Committee. This post exudes power and access to federal coffers.
"How are those promises working out for us? After yet another gulf hurricane-battered Connecticut, our residents learn that no federal funds are heading here.
"If a senior member of congress who controls the national purse strings cannot deliver needed aid to her state or shoreline district, especially in this dire time of need, then when will she fight for us? Either those strings connecting her to access and power must be so thin that they are ineffective, or worse, she chose not to stand up and ask for aid. I shudder to think what kind of emergency would be required to get DeLauro to make the needed communications to bring help home.
"It's time to start asking for better representation, Connecticut."
