Good morning! We hope you had a great Labor Day weekend. Here's what's coming up this fall.

Tennessee DSA Convention
October 15-17, 2021

The inaugural Tennessee state-wide DSA convention happens in October! If you're curious what the DSA is doing across the state, you should plan on joining us the weekend of October 15. We'll be glad to have you whether you register for just one session or the entire weekend.

What You'll Get During the Convention

An introduction to all the Tennessee DSA chapters - did you know we have chapters in Knoxville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, and Northeast Tennessee?
Workshops to hone your skills in:
- Growth and development
- De-escalation techniques
- Chapter leadership
- and more!
Working group meetings. See what's up with specific projects, such as:
- Disability justice
- Labor organizing
- Queer socialism
- and more!

Members of the Chattanooga chapter will be presenting on queer socialism and chapter growth. We hope to see you there!

This session's topic is Socialism and Identity Politics. You can check out the readings here, but remember you don't have to have read them to join us and discuss. We give a summary of each reading at the beginning of each meeting. Come chat socialism with us!

Chattanooga Clergy for Justice Coalition - Community Meeting
Saturday, September 25

In June, members of the Chattanooga Clergy for Justice, the Chattanooga DSA, and other organizing groups filed a complaint with the Department of Justice requesting an investigation into misconduct in the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office (HCSO). You can read the full complaint here.During the 9/25 meeting, the coalition will go over the complaint in depth and ask for HCSO policy/procedure changes and proposals.
