The 7th of September, signaeled the Whiro moon phase
which is the beginning of the Māori month, Mahuru. So Mahuru Māori
started 2 days ago and even if you only know how to say ‘kia ora’ give
it a go and you can check out more here.
HE ORANGA MAU ROA – VACCINATE YOU AND YOUR
WHĀNAU
Whānau, there’s a heap of noise out there but here’s the thing,
enough of us aren’t getting vaccinated and our top Māori medical
experts are encouraging us to get vaccinated, you can read more here.
We are encouraging you to get vaccinated and our Māori Health and
Whānau Ora providers are doing an amazing job to make it easy for you
to walk in and get it done. Let’s do this for us and at the same
time, show David Seymour that his silly antics just aren’t good
enough, because we deserve better.
Me and my boy went to Te Kōhao Health at Kirikiriroa Marae in
Hamilton a couple of weeks ago. The music was awesome, I didn’t
realise it was over as I was having a good kōrero in te reo with the
nurse. Behind the mask, I asked the nurse his name and when he
responded, I said, you must be a whanaunga and he said, yes uncle I
was online with you yesterday for karakia!
So get out there and get vaccinated because in our history,
vaccinations have helped our people to survive through all the health
challenges that we have faced in the last 100 years.
Take care and kōrero Māori e hoa mā
Arohanui
