John,

I’m deeply disturbed by the Texas abortion ban
that the Supreme Court allowed to go into effect, even though it
flies right in the face of Roe v. Wade.

The law
bans abortion at six weeks, earlier than most women know they’re
even pregnant. It doesn’t allow for exceptions in the cases of
rape or incest, and creates a vigilante system to enforce the
dystopian measure. Folks can sue health care providers if they
suspect them of “aiding or abetting” abortions, and could receive
over $10,000 as a reward.

This didn’t happen suddenly, it’s part of a
carefully planned strategy from anti-choice activists over the
years to outlaw abortion in America. Will you donate to our
movement today so we can codify abortion rights into law to fight
back?

This Texas law is a result of factors set in
motion by anti-choice activists. They worked to help Trump win
the Presidency, and pressured the administration to pick judges
like Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barret who would be willing to
overturn Roe v. Wade.

They’ve worked with GOP legislators across the
country to pass increasingly invasive abortion laws, in the hopes
that one day a conservative supermajority on the court would
allow them to go into effect. That reality has finally been
realized.

What’s terrifying is that things could get even worse if
Republicans take control of Congress next year. The GOP tried to
defund Planned Parenthood last time they were in charge, but with
a conservative court they could feel emboldened to pass laws far
more aggressive to ban abortions in America.

Will you contribute to our cause to keep Congress
blue? If Democrats stay in control, we can fight to codify
abortion rights into law. If Republicans win, they’ll try to ban
it.
