Let's talk for a second about President Trump:

To put it plainly -- of course the president has broken the law. That's why we've taken him to court 50 times and haven't lost once. Now, it's time for him to be impeached.

Washington state is doing its job. Americans across the country are doing their job by making their voices heard, and House Democrats are doing their job by starting this inquiry. There is enough evidence to impeach by the president's own admission of asking for foreign assistance against his 2020 political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden -- but it's time Republicans get on board to do their job and join the rest of the county in taking action.

Impeachment shouldn't be taken lightly, and it shouldn't be about a political disagreement -- impeachment should be about a threat to our democracy. That's why I'm speaking out today: Join our call to congressional Republicans to take action on impeachment now -- add your name.

I'm grateful to Democrats in Congress and the American people for aggressively taking action on this.

Americans need that aggression in the pursuit of justice and truth. I believe that fervently. There was a time when even some elected Republicans believed in putting country before party, but it's something we've seen less and less from them over time, and it has accelerated since Donald Trump was elected. Now's a critical moment: If there was ever a time to put our constitution and our country first, that time is now.

I've thought for a while that impeachment is inevitable. Donald Trump's recent words and actions only make me believe that even more strongly -- in fact, I'm not sure how anyone doesn't believe impeachment is both necessary and warranted.

That's why we need to speak out now, loud and clear, with one succinct message: Republicans in Congress have a constitutional mandate to act on impeachment. And they must act now. Add your name next to mine right now if you agree.
