Just hours after my Trump-endorsed opponent launched his campaign against me, CNN tipped control of the Senate towards Republicans. If I lose this race, Democrats will lose our razor-thin Senate majority and our chance to protect choice, make progress on voting rights or advance our other shared values.
Here’s the thing, The Cook Political Report just downgraded my chances of winning, after I was already named one of the most vulnerable senators in the entire country by CNN. That was all before Donald Trump threw his “complete and total endorsement” behind my extremist opponent — one of his top allies who pushed voter fraud conspiracy theories to overturn the results of Nevada’s election — after he launched his campaign to flip Nevada and the Senate red.
Even worse, more than $1 million has already been spent on attack ads to defeat me — and the recent downgrade for my odds of winning prove that the GOP’s tactics could be working. Look, the Republican Senate campaign arm just raised a staggering $28 million.
There’s only one seat standing in the way of Mitch McConnell controlling the Senate, and CNN just declared my race as a top pickup opportunity for Republicans — so I cannot afford to miss tonight’s goal.
