Friend, I chose to serve our country, first in the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves and now as a legislator, because I believe in the best for our country and the rights and freedoms we hold dear. And nothing is more important than defending them.

That's why this news is so devastating: Last week, Republican lawmakers in Texas essentially ended Roe v. Wade with a law that makes it impossible for anyone to access abortions after six weeks – a point when most don't even know they are pregnant.

Simply put: No legislator should be making this decision for someone else.

What's next? Likely a wave of similar laws across the country. We cannot let that happen, friend. 

As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I'm fighting tooth and nail for improvements to reproductive health around the world, and it’s maddening to see such an enormous erosion happening here.
