For far too long, members of Congress, with Big Oil & Gas money lining their pockets, have done little to nothing to address the worsening climate crisis.
Even with Democrats in control of the House, Senate, and White House, the United States has done embarrassingly little to hold the companies that knew about and covered up their contributions to climate change decades ago accountable.
We know climate change is real, it’s here, and there’s hardly any time for us to prevent it from turning into an even worse disaster –- one that will wreak havoc on the most vulnerable communities across our country and the planet.
With a recently leaked tape uncovering how a senior Exxon lobbyist said the company's support of a carbon tax is just for show, we know Big Oil is still actively working to keep us from addressing the climate crisis.
So we're joining progressive champion Ro Khanna to demand answers from big oil. Not only will a hearing with Big Oil executives give us answers on how their companies are fighting progress, but it will also begin the process of holding them accountable for their lies and deception.

Major fossil fuel companies, ones like ExxonMobil and Chevron, have spent the last few decades funding and leading efforts to sow doubt about climate science.
Even today, while pretending to care about action on climate change in public, behind closed doors they still aggressively lobby for anti-climate legislation.
It really is no surprise though because oil and gas companies spend hundreds of millions lobbying politicians just to keep us from transitioning away from fossil fuels, even though they’ve known for over 40 years that their product will destroy the environment and cause people worldwide to suffer.
