This last week, the Supreme Court decided not to block Texas’ abortion ban in a 5-4 decision, defying the precedent set by Roe v. Wade in 1973.

SB 8 makes abortions illegal before most people even know they’re pregnant. Not only that, it encourages others to act as vigilante bounty hunters and turn in anyone helping someone get an abortion, even an Uber driver taking someone to a clinic.
We need to make progress on human rights, not go backwards. This Supreme Court decision signals to anti-choice activists that they are willing to overturn Roe .
