Friend: I wanted to make sure you didn't miss my earlier message (below) about the investigation into the Trump family's and Congressional Republicans' involvement in the Capitol insurrection.
Each day as the House presses forward with investigations, we are learning more disturbing information about Donald Trump weaponizing the executive branch to try to overthrow the election. Now, the bipartisan Jan. 6 Commission may uncover that congressional Republicans and Trump family members directly aided the rioters as they attacked the Capitol and our democracy.
But here's what we're up against: Trump's right-wing allies will do everything in their power to obstruct investigations and brush the former president and GOP's anti-democratic antics under the rug. That's why we must take action together to hold every public official accountable for attacking our democracy. Before 11:59 p.m. tonight, I need 275 more people to speak out and tell me where they stand:
Should criminal charges be considered for Donald Trump, his family, and members of Congress if proven that they aided the January 6th insurrectionists?

Thanks so much for speaking out.

Subject: The Trump family and members of Congress
Friend,
They are serious and we need them to be: The bipartisan select committee investigating the Jan. 6 insurrection has asked telecommunication companies to preserve records of members of Congress and the Trump family who participated in the "Stop the Steal" rally – otherwise known as the pre-cursor to the attack on the Capitol.
In other words, we are about to learn whether members of Congress and the Trump family aided the violent insurrectionists the day of the Capitol attack.
According to CNN, the committee may investigate the communications of elected officials such as Reps. Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, and Jim Jordan. They will also reportedly investigate the former president and his children.
This comes just weeks after I heard closed-door testimony from former AG Jeff Rosen - who offered chilling confirmation that Donald Trump mounted a brutal pressure campaign aimed at the Department of Justice, seeking to weaponize the DOJ to overturn the 2020 election.
Here's what I can tell you as a former U.S. Attorney and a state attorney general for over 20 years: Based on that testimony alone, there is real potential for criminal charges to be considered against the former president. All the facts must be gathered, and all options must be considered.
But Republicans will do whatever they can to protect themselves and cover for Donald Trump and his family. They are already making threats to try to keep the facts from coming out. It's up to all grassroots Democrats to speak out and ensure Trump is held accountable – which is why I need to know where 1,000 of you stand right now:
Should criminal charges be considered for Donald Trump, his family, and members of Congress if proven that they aided the Jan. 6th insurrectionists?

It's becoming clearer and clearer that the former president and his acolytes mounted an unprecedented and coordinated attack on our democratic institutions. The damages they inflicted – and attempted to inflict – are some of the gravest in modern times. It's incumbent upon all of us to speak out. I appreciate you speaking out alongside me.
