I emailed you recently about our work to make sure migrant women can access the specialised help they need, if they face domestic abuse. 

Last week in the Queen’s speech, the Government committed to prioritise domestic abuse laws. We welcome this but it must result in meaningful change for all survivors. 

Will you call on the government to address discrimination toward migrant women?

The Government has an opportunity to do the right thing and treat people with humanity rather than suspicion. Don’t let them turn a blind eye to migrant women.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

Parliament will shortly be entering a new phase of the Domestic Abuse Bill’s progress, called the Committee stage. This involves a group of MPs sitting down to review the Bill. 
 
So, heads up – if one of these MPs is in your area, we’ll be in touch soon to ask you to please get in contact with them, calling on them to ensure the Bill includes protection for migrant women.

In the meantime, join us and call on the Home Secretary to make sure domestic abuse laws don't discriminate against migrant women.
