Domestic Abuse Bill for all

Abusers use the threat of immigration enforcement to pressure and control their partners. This situation puts migrant women in a vulnerable position. They fear the abuser and also fear asking for help.

New laws ignore the experiences of some of the most marginalised women –  women who have migrated to the UK find it virtually impossible to get the support they need, like access to life-saving refuges. The current Domestic Abuse Bill does nothing to change that.

Women must be able to escape to safe accommodation and must be able to report abuse without fear of facing detention or deportation as a result.
