John,
This year has brought home the terrifying scope of the climate crisis. Intense hurricanes have forced people from their homes, massive wildfires continue to burn in the West, oppressive heat waves occur all over the country, and the Midwest has had more unprecedented flooding. Climate change is here, and it's an existential threat.
Yet rather than doing everything possible to avoid more devastation, President Biden announced that his administration would begin leasing more than 125,000 square miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico to oil and gas drilling interests. And that's in addition to hundreds of thousands of more acres of public lands being drilled onshore. This is the exact wrong decision.
That’s why Food & Water Watch is taking action. In order to avert all-out climate chaos, we need to stop oil and gas drilling on public lands and waters and halt the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure. Help power our campaign to fight Big Oil & Gas for a livable climate — please consider making a donation today.

Biden’s decision is a rubber stamp that would allow the oil and gas industry to continue destroying more land, contaminating local water, and locking us into decades more pollution and greenhouse gases.
President Biden and his administration want you to believe we can stop runaway climate change without taking the necessary steps to ban fracking and immediately stop the expansion of fossil fuel production and infrastructure. Enough is enough. We can no longer pretend we have the luxury of time when it comes to fighting climate change. Climate change is happening now — only swift, decisive action will prevent it from becoming even worse!

If we don’t take action now, runaway climate chaos will be our future. That’s why Food & Water Watch is fighting for real climate solutions; that means taking on the fossil fuel industry, banning fracking everywhere (including on public lands), and halting new fossil fuel infrastructure — the things fueling climate chaos. Make a donation today to take on the fossil fuel industry, demand urgent climate action from our leaders, and avert climate disaster.
