If you're still furious about Texas's extreme and disgusting attack on the constitutional rights of millions of American women and families -- like I'm furious -- good. You should be.
Laws like the one passed in Texas strip us of the freedom to control our bodies. We cannot tell another American what to do with their body, or worse, pass laws controlling their bodies and taking away their freedom to choose.
The issue of choice is personal to me. When I was in college and had just found out I was pregnant -- still a student and feeling incredibly unprepared to have a baby. In that fearful and uncertain time, I exerted my constitutional right to choose and have my oldest daughter -- a choice everyone must be entitled to and empowered to make.
Government has no jurisdiction governing the rights of pregnant people. I'm going to fight like hell to ensure government stays out of decisions made between doctors and their patients.
But I need this team, each and every one of you, to help me do that.
