Over the next two weeks, Committees in the House will decide how the money for President Biden’s Build Back Better plan will be divided. And the first hearings start tomorrow.

This is our best chance to ensure that Congress makes the investment we need in caregiving, including paid leave and Home and Community-Based Care (HCBS). Will you sign our petition urging Congress to support caregiving with a bold investment?

House Committees are meeting to determine the scope and reach of programs that will have an enormous impact on the lives of families for years to come. This process is called “Markup” and it’s one of the most important parts of the legislative process for determining whether the items we want will be funded.

We're fighting right now to make sure that Congress invests the money necessary to do two basic things:

1. Expand access to quality home-based services and care for millions of older adults and people with disabilities and
2. Fairly compensate direct care workers and provide more support for family caregivers.

That's not a lot to ask. But we have to insist and make our demands loud and clear.

Members of Congress are coming under enormous pressure from those who simply don't want to prioritize American families in our nation's spending. So they need to hear from those of us who care about putting our families first. All of us.
