Don't forget to reserve your seat for this Sept. 15 discussion of Partnerships and Pathways for Successful Reentry in Wisconsin. The event features an array of experts who will present mindsets, tools and strategies that can increase the likelihood of successful reintegration. The event begins with a discussion of a successful Nevada model that brings together the corrections system, a nonprofit reentry program and a local college working to steer reentering citizens into opportunities of higher education and vocational training. Speakers include: Jon Ponder, Founder and CEO of Hope for Prisoners, will lead the discussion alongside a distinguished panel: Dr. James McCoy, VP of Academic Affairs, College of Southern Nevada Graham Miller, Hope for Prisoners graduate & current CSN Student Professors within the University of Wisconsin system will also share research and findings that give insight into successful reintegration approaches. Professors include: Tina Freiburger, Ph.D., Dean and Professor, Helen Bader School of Social Welfare, UWM "An Assessment of a Vocational Training Program to Prepare Wisconsin's Prison Population for Skilled Employment" David Pate Jr., Ph.D., Chair and Associate Professor, Social Work, UWM "The Milwaukee Re-Entry Alliance Project" RSVP Wednesday, September 15 3:30-5:30 p.m. Doors will open at 3 p.m. Lubar Entrepreneurship Center on the UW-Milwaukee Campus 2100 E.
