Voting Rights Bill Passes House

There has been a rise in legislation proposed by state legislatures across the country designed to suppress the vote of people with disabilities, people of color, and youth voters, following historic turnout in the 2020 elections. The National Disability Rights Network commends the House of Representatives for taking an important step to combat this voter suppression by passing the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and urges the Senate to take immediate action.

Considering that 25 million Americans have a disability, and the federal government oversees billions of dollars in disability related spending, why don’t candidates for office take voters with disabilities more seriously?

Come to the Disability Vote Summit

Hosted by the National Disability Rights Network and the American Association of People with Disabilities, the virtual Disability Vote Summit will explore the power of the disability vote, lessons learned from 2020 turnout, how to use data to mobilize the disability vote, and more!

Tell Congress to Keep the Web Accessible

The Online Accessibility Act would undermine the Americans with Disabilities Act and work against full access to websites by users with disabilities.

If you think it is important for NDRN to continue to protect and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities, please donate to support this work. Thank you!
