If you’ve been keeping up with our emails, you’ll know that we’ve found ourselves in a big moment: we have an opportunity to leverage the push around recovery and budget reconciliation to win on some massive progressive priorities.

After conservative Democrats in the House attempted to revolt against the prevailing strategy supported by progressives and Democratic leadership, we now have something that really ups the urgency: a deadline. We need to ensure that an inclusive recovery package is ready to go by September 27, and that it includes all our top priorities.

So, what are our top priorities for the bill?

• A pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrants;
• Lowering drug prices, expanding Medicare to cover vision, dental, and hearing, and lowering the eligibility age to 60 years old;
• Investments in climate, including a Clean Energy Standard (with no fossil fuels!) and a Civilian Climate Corps;
• Investments in housing, especially deeply affordable housing and housing for unhoused populations; 
• Historic investments in the care economy including universal child care, paid leave and home and community-based care and;
• Address extreme wealth inequality by taxing the ultra-rich and big corporations so they finally pay their fair share.

The House will be moving on the bill first -- that means you need to call your representative and let them know you expect them to support an inclusive recovery package, and to pass it before voting on the bipartisan infrastructure bill.
