Friend, the EPA is now reviewing the damage done by the previous administration to roll back essential tailpipe emission rules. This is our chance to reverse these anti-environment actions and secure the strongest clean car standards, ever.
The transportation sector is by far the biggest contributor of greenhouse gases in our country. If we do nothing on clean car standards, we'll continue to see emissions soar, continue to breathe in toxic exhaust, and continue to pay more to support the gas industry.
Only with the strongest possible vehicle pollution limits and fuel economy standards can we protect our air and water, improve the economy, address the climate crisis, and create a liveable future for our children and grandchildren.
But our success depends on you speaking up. Tell the EPA we need to drive down emissions with the strongest federal clean car standards before the comment period closes »
The window for meaningful action on climate change is rapidly closing. Every day, we're seeing record-breaking extreme weather events across the country and around the globe. We must do all we can to limit future catastrophic impacts — and the innovation and transformation of our vehicles is a vital part of the solution.
Increasing vehicle emissions standards isn't just about fighting climate change; it's about environmental justice. Because of decades of racist housing policy, communities of color and low-wealth communities are more likely to have highways cut through their neighborhoods — leading to disproportionate harm from vehicle emissions, which then contributes to high rates of asthma and other respiratory illnesses. As a result, these communities have also endured higher rates of severe illness and death throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. It's an injustice that must end, and cleaner cars can help us get there.
We win when the entire grassroots movement stands up to demand climate justice. Be one of the 10,000 LCV supporters needed to defend our communities and climate with clean car standards »
Thank you for supporting a clean, healthy, and sustainable future.
