First the bad news, team.
Last week, Texas' discriminatory voting law went into effect. It bans ballot drop boxes, drive-thru voting, 24-hour polling locations, and the distribution of mail-in ballot applications. It establishes monthly "citizen checks" and creates new ID requirements to vote.
The bad news out of Texas is a major blow to our fight to expand access to the ballot box. Now for the good news:
Georgia officially has 95 percent of eligible voters registered1 -- one of the highest registration rates in the country. This is a huge victory, and a testament to the organizing activists have been doing on the ground in Georgia for years.
Listen, whether you live in Texas or Georgia, Hawaii or Missouri, you should be able to vote without fear and without having to jump through endless hoops.
It's our mission through The Vote To Live Campaign to help Black voters register and get to the polls, no matter where they live. And we need your help to do it, team. Will you make a donation to The Vote To Live Campaign today?
Onward,
The Vote To Live Team
