Dear John,
Right now, there are approximately 250,000 dogs languishing in U.S. puppy mills. The Department of Agriculture (USDA) is responsible for licensing and overseeing these businesses. Despite overwhelming evidence of cruelty to the dogs in some of these facilities, the USDA does nothing. They choose to let violations go unreported and unpunished.

Advocating against puppy mills is near and dear to my heart–I share my home with a puppy mill survivor, Sami. She spent two years living in a small, dark space without even having a name. She was forced to have litter after litter, and her puppies were sold to pet stores. It pains me to think about the way she was treated and how she and her puppies suffered.
The USDA is failing to do its job, abandoning its responsibility to enforce the Animal Welfare Act. Enough is enough.
We must be the voice for the helpless dogs living in puppy mills.

Please sign the ASPCA’s petition, but HURRY—the petition is closing on Monday! With your signature, you’ll join over 100,000 advocates in telling President Biden, who has the power to direct the USDA to do its job, that the suffering must end.

From me, Sami and all the dogs who have ever been victim to the inhumane puppy mill industry, thank you for using your voice.
