Dear Jack,

Tamandua and Baita are two of the last surviving members of the Piripkura tribe. And in just ten days' time, their forest refuge could be opened up to loggers and ranchers.
Take action
For the Piripkura, that would be catastrophic. Tamandua and Baita have already survived a series of massacres that have brought their people to the edge of extinction.

It's thought a small number of other Piripkura people might also survive in the depths of the forest, but most – men, women and children – were gunned down in cold blood by the very people now eyeing up their last remaining forest sanctuary.
Act now for Tamandua and Baita
Their territory is shielded by a Land Protection Order – a temporary decree that has to be renewed every few years. It expires in just 10 days. If it isn't renewed, the Piripkura are likely to be, finally, completely wiped out.

We can't let that happen. Please Act Now – call on the authorities responsible to renew the Order immediately. It really is a matter of life and death.

Subject: Act now for the survival of uncontacted tribes

Dear Ministro Anderson Gustavo Torres, Sr Marcelo Augusto Xavier da Silva, Deputado Arthur Lira and Senador Rodrigo Pacheco,

Emergency Land Protection Orders (“portarias de restrição de uso”) are key for the survival of uncontacted tribes – the most vulnerable peoples on the planet.

Attempts to extinguish them, or to reduce the sizes of these territories, constitute a genocidal attack on Brazil’s indigenous peoples, and must be stopped.

This year, the Land Protection Orders shielding the Piripkura, Jacareuba Katawixi and Pirititi indigenous territories are due to expire. The situation of the Ituna Itatá indigenous territory is also critical.

Will you commit to:
- renewing these Land Protection Orders
- evicting all illegal invaders from these territories
- fully demarcating these lands, as the Brazilian constitution and international law require?

Yours sincerely,
