** It's easy to forget some of the most painful casualties from Biden's misadventures are the ones forced to put their association on their resumes.
------------------------------------------------------------
Washington Examiner ([link removed]) (9/7/21) reports: "Some staffers in the Biden White House would rather miss their boss speak in public than endure another gaffe, according to a new report. Anxiety about what President Joe Biden might say if he takes questions from the media drives some in the White House to mute him or turn off his public appearances altogether, Politico reported Tuesday, citing White House officials. 'I know people who habitually don’t watch it live for that reason,' an unnamed official told the outlet for the report, which focused on occasions when he strays from messaging crafted by the West Wing. On Tuesday, Biden asserted during a briefing about the damage incurred from Hurricane Ida that tornadoes are called something else now. 'The members of Congress know, from their colleagues in Congress, that, uh, you know, the, looks like a tornado, they don't call them that anymore, that hit the crops and
wetlands in the middle of the country, in Iowa and Nevada. It's just across the board,' Biden said at a press conference in New Jersey."

** "[The IPCC Report] says that we need massive investment – to transform energy systems, transport, industry, land use and agriculture, housing, and to prepare for the accelerating effects of climate breakdown – not the death cult of conservative economics. It shows that we must abandon economic growth, which is the basis of capitalism."

In honor of the upcoming COP26 to be held in Scotland, the UK turned on some coal plants to keep the lights on.
** BBC ([link removed].)
(9/7/21) reports: "The UK fired up an old coal power plant on Monday to meet its electricity needs. Warm, still, autumn weather has meant wind farms have not generated as much power as normal, while soaring prices have made it too costly to rely on gas. As a result, National Grid ESO - which is responsible for balancing the UK's electricity supply - confirmed coal was providing 3% of national power. It said it asked EDF to fire up West Burton A, which had been on standby. On Tuesday, the use of coal returned to 2.2% of the UK's electricity generation. A National Grid ESO spokesman said there had been a three-day coal-free run in mid-August, but the country had relied on some coal power every day since then. Last year, coal contributed 1.6% of the country's electricity mix. That was down from 25% five years ago. Both the government and National Grid ESO have committed to phasing out coal power completely by 2024 to cut carbon emissions. However, coal is still used when it is better value
than gas."
But wind and solar just need battery backup!

(9/7/21) reports: "Less than a year after it entered service, the Moss Landing Energy Storage Facility in California was forced offline on September 4 when an unspecified number of batteries overheated. Local fire crews were called around 8 pm to a reported structure fire, but no fire was found. News reports said that first responders instead found battery racks that had been scorched and wires melted. Fire crews remained on the scene into Sunday. In a statement, Vistra said that the storage facility experienced 'an overheating issue with a limited number of battery modules.' The incident affected the facility’s Phase I 300 MW /1200 MWh system. Vistra said that risk mitigation and safety systems “worked as designed” and detected that modules were operating at a temperature above operational standards. The company said that targeted sprinkler systems were activated and aimed at the affected modules. Vistra said that the overheating was 'controlled and contained' without the need for outside
assistance."

No wonder the pandemic has gotten so out of hand. Doctors are all spending their time trying to 'save' the climate instead of the sick!
** Wall Street Journal ([link removed])
(9/7/21) column: "Medical journals are supposed to be forums for doctors to publish research and debate ideas. But like traditional media outlets, many are finding it harder to control their political bias. Now some 200 journal editors are showing their political hand on climate change in an apocalyptic and misleading joint editorial this week that could have been ghost-written by Greta Thunberg...The editorial cites a recent British Medical Journal meta-analysis of studies that examine links between extreme weather and health outcomes. But most findings haven’t been replicated, many conflict, and correlation doesn’t prove causation. Obesity has increased at the same time temperatures have. That doesn’t mean heat is making people fatter. Worse are the editorial’s deceptive statements such as global warming is 'contributing to the decline in global yield potential for major crops,' which is 'hampering efforts to reduce undernutrition' (our emphasis). But actual crop yields have been
increasing thanks to better agricultural practices, plant genetics and, yes, higher CO2 levels."
