| Fellow American, There’s a lot of talk lately about the very real possibility that Roe v. Wade decision will soon be overturned. With a 6-3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court, and key cases now pending for decision, many experts on the Left and Right expect that Roe’s days are numbered. IT CANNOT HAPPEN SOON ENOUGH. When the Supreme Court legalized abortion, it also violated the most fundamental premise of our great nation. The central idea of America is that we boldly declare the self-evident truth that ALL men are created equal, and are thus endowed by God with the same inalienable rights – first to LIFE – and then to liberty, the pursuit of happiness and all the rest. The Roe decision ignored this foundational creed – with staggering consequences. In the nearly 50 years since Roe was decided in January 1973, the lives of approximately 63 million innocent, unborn children have been lost. Before I was elected to Congress I spent nearly 20 years in the courts defending the sanctity of human life, and I am always thankful when courageous state legislatures step up to help defend the unborn as well. Texas recently passed a "Heartbeat bill" that was left in place last week by the Supreme Court, and now pro-abortion Democrats are furiously denouncing that state's law and vowing to reverse it in Congress. Radical House Speaker Nancy Pelosi blasted the Supreme Court decision and made that vow, and President Joe Biden insisted the decision required an “immediate response." He committed “to launch a whole-of-government effort to respond” – meaning he will use all available federal resources to undermine the new Texas law. Fellow American, this is an utter abuse of power from Democrats. I stand strong for life, and I hope you do too. Would you be willing to add your name to my Stand Strong for Life pledge of conscientious Americans like us who are steadfast in protecting the unborn? Fellow American, the Supreme Court was exactly right to leave the Texas pro-life law intact. While the Democrats continue to push abortion-on-demand in Washington, D.C., we must stand and resist their schemes – and keep fighting until the Court finally overturns Roe and returns this foundational question to the states where it has always belonged.
