Dear John,
This is big.
Last week, the nation was shocked when the Supreme Court, in a five to four decision, refused to intervene and stop the implementation of Texas's heartbeat bill. The court declined a last-minute plea from abortion businesses to halt Texas Senate Bill 8, which essentially stops abortions after six weeks when a heartbeat can be detected.
This isn't the end of the court challenges to the law since it's only temporary as the litigation is ongoing. But this is a six-week ban on abortions -- and every day it's in effect, lives are being saved!
This is the first time in 48 years that we actually see a way forward for America to become a predominantly pro-life nation.
While this Texas law works its way through the appeals process, we have a major abortion case -- Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization -- that the Supreme Court will hear this fall challenging a Mississippi 15-week pro-life law. And the arguments in the Dobbs case are directly challenging Roe v. Wade.
John, the debate over abortion and lives in the womb cannot be ignored.
From day one, the pro-abortion Biden-Harris administration has worked to change laws and force taxpayers to fund abortions.
Recently, White House press secretary Jen Psaki openly stated their pro-abortion impetus: "[T]he president is committed to codifying Roe... unrelated... to the outcome of this case."
At the same time, pro-life legislators in the states have enacted 90 new pro-life laws (including Texas Senate Bill 8) in the first half of this year. And though the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in the Mississippi Dobbs case this fall, it will likely issue its decision next summer -- right in the middle of the contentious midterm elections.
Our nation faces stark moral choices in the days ahead.
Thanks to Mississippi and Texas standing steadfast for vulnerable lives in the womb, America is closer than we've ever been to ending one of the worst human rights atrocities in modern history.
Now is the time to stand together and speak up for life. Will you join FRC with your best gift today, as we seek to literally save lives? The next generation is counting on you!

Of course, the Left imagines "doom and gloom" scenarios about Roe being reversed. Some level of panic on their part makes sense.
The "right" to abortion was never a democratically passed law, statute, or constitutionally protected decision. In fact, it's an invention of activist judges. Justice Byron White famously denounced the Roe decision as an "act of raw judicial power."
A key question we'll hear is: Do states have a right to protect women and children?
For decades, FRC and the pro-life movement have been doing all we can to save lives. We champion volunteer-based pregnancy resource centers that offer tangible help like free ultrasounds, parenting classes, counseling, diapers, baby clothes, and much more.
With this Dobbs case, the future of unlimited, elective abortion looks uncertain. Yet, if Roe is wholly or partially overturned, it will not immediately outlaw abortion in all U.S. states.
Instead, the question of abortion would be left up to the state legislatures, which are more accessible to and are more easily influenced by the people -- that's exactly why the Left does not want them making the laws about abortion.
FRC will be right in the fray of this legal battle. Our policy experts, including several attorneys, have filed an amicus brief -- a "friend of the court" legal document with the most compelling constitutional arguments for justices to read and consider.

"This Dobbs case is groundbreaking," said FRC's Katherine Beck Johnson, Research Fellow for Legal and Policy Studies. "The fact that the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the first gestational limit on abortion since Roe is a significant shift."
FRC's amicus brief matters in part because, in recent years, some conservatives have wavered in their convictions once on the high court. As Washington's elite circles have shifted further Left in recent months, justices and their staff may become susceptible to media and peer pressure.
Yet the people of Mississippi overwhelmingly support the pro-life side of the case. Polls say 64 percent believe abortion should be illegal in all or most cases.
When the shoddy Jackson, Mississippi abortion center brought a legal challenge, their intent was to halt pro-life policies. Now it may lead to an unprecedented stand for lives in the womb.
The radical abortion industry and its allies in the media and the government will not relent. Neither will we -- thanks to your support, FRC will advance a multi-faceted strategy to defend precious lives.
Together, we can bring our nation back to life.
