Lt. Gov Dan Patrick

“The Texas Senate completed one of the greatest weeks for conservative legislation in Texas, and perhaps, American history.”

SB1 Signing

Today, I joined Gov. Greg Abbott in Tyler for the signing of SB 1, the Election Integrity Bill. Our goal was to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat, and this bill does just that. Author Sen. Bryan Hughes, R-Minola, and House sponsor Rep. Andrew Murr, R-Junction, joined us for the signing as well.

A Third Special Session

As always, the Senate will be ready to immediately get to work on September 20th, as we did in the first and second special sessions. It is possible additional items could be added to this session at some point, as was the case in the last special.

Historic Session

As we finished last week, I am very proud to say that the Texas Senate completed one of the greatest weeks for conservative legislation in Texas, and perhaps, American history. We set the foundation for conservative, common sense policy. The cornerstones of this foundation start with Senate Bill 1, the Election Integrity Bill, making it easier to vote and harder to cheat. Another huge victory for Texas and our pro-life values, Senate Bill 8, the Heartbeat Bill, has been allowed to be enacted by the United States Supreme Court.

No student should be called an oppressor or a victim and every student deserves to dream big in our great country. Senate Bill 3, Banning Critical Race Theory in our schools, ensures that Texas children are taught that no one race or sex is better than another. And finally the Texas Senate passed additional funding investing an additional $1.8 billion to secure our border, because the federal government is not doing their job. While Biden and his administration sit idly by, I remain committed to do whatever it takes to secure our border and maintain public safety in our state.

These are conservative cornerstones that will keep Texas, Texas. These tremendous victories were the result of countless hours of teamwork and collaboration by the Texas Senate. We still have unfinished business to complete on the Fair Sports for Women and Girls Act. The Senate has passed that bill 4 times, and it has continuously failed in the House. I have asked Gov. Abbott to place it on the special session call later this month, and I am happy to see that he did. We will pass it again.

I could not be more proud of your Texas Senators and the bills we have sent to Gov. Abbott to be signed into law.

Remembering Willard Scott

Willard Scott

I knew Willard briefly working in TV in DC in the late 70s. Al Roker did weather at my station and he was friends with Willard, so we’d go to dinner on occasion. He was a truly nice and funny man. I came to Houston TV, he went to NY and eventually took Roker with him. Willard was an original.

Listening to Biden
This put a smile on my face and I hope it does the same for you.

It's probably because we keep turning conservative policy into conservative legislation that the Democrats are trying to defeat me at the ballot box. The Democrats will stop at nothing to defeat me in 2022. I hope I can count on your financial support of $5-10-25 or more today.

Your support will help our campaign champion conservative ideas across Texas. Because when the conservatives win, Texas wins.

May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.

Sincerely,

Dan Patrick
