What if I told you that personal, handwritten letters were one of the most
effective ways to contact voters and ask them to take action?
It’s true. Many studies show that personalized, handwritten letters can
effectively encourage people to turn out to vote. In elections across the
country, we’ve seen turnout among letter recipients to be up to 3.4%
higher than turnout in control groups.^1
Because we know this tactic works for elections, we’re launching a
postcard writing project to contact voters in four Medicare for All
priority districts. We believe that with enough pressure from
constituents, these four representatives could co-sponsor H.R. 1976, the
Medicare for All Act of 2021, and get us one step closer to passing
single-payer health care. But we need your help.

call their representative and ask them to support Medicare for All?

The good news is that you won’t be writing your cards alone. We’re hosting
three virtual card writing parties that you can join (although not
required) to meet other Medicare for All activists, socialize, and listen
to music while you write.
If you sign up before Monday, September 13, we’ll send you a batch of
postcards and addresses in the mail! If you're unable to register by
September 13th, no worries. You can still join us by using our digital
toolkit to print your own materials.
The best way to secure more cosponsors on H.R. 1976 is to activate voters
in these districts. The more calls and letters that representatives
receive from their constituents, the more likely they’ll be to sign on.

activate new voters to join our movement and secure more cosponsors on the
Medicare for All Act.
Happy writing,
