Dear John,

You’ve studied the issues. The Canadian Taxpayers Federation exists because people like you know taxpayers need a voice. It’s a good bet you’ve got your eye on what’s going on.

But what about your neighbour? Politicians are making fantastic promises and the media focuses on shiny issues. People could use a hand.

We’re making it easy for your neighbours. They can listen to a podcast while walking the dog or watch a YouTube video on the couch. Helping out your neighbour is as easy as forwarding an email.

So, let’s get started with two huge issues.

HOME EQUITY TAXES: Canadians have always had a tax exemption when they sell their primary residence and politicians swear they’ll never impose a home equity tax. So, what’s the problem? More than 100,000 taxpayers have signed our PETITION ([link removed]) opposing a home equity tax because they’re not sure they can trust politicians. And when we dug into the details, there’s good reason for that skepticism.

CARBON TAXES: Carbon tax advocates say making you pay more for gas will help the environment. We’ve checked the track record for carbon taxes and there’s a lot more to the story. And the political parties are constantly shifting their carbon tax policies.

And when you’ve given these a listen, please send them to your neighbours.

This is just the beginning. We’ll have more podcasts and videos coming up. Stay tuned.

Thanks for stepping up and fighting for taxpayers – it’s making a difference!

- Todd, Shannon and all of the CTF staff
