John, Since we launched our global program, 60 countries have passed strong tobacco control laws. I’m truly amazed by the enormous impact of our work around the globe. Today, 66 countries have smoke-free laws, 46 countries ban tobacco advertising and 139 countries require graphic warning labels on cigarette packs. Altogether, the policies we supported are on track to prevent over 35 million premature deaths. |

The life-saving victories we’ve won around the world are ONLY possible thanks to our sustaining donors. They are our secret weapon in the global fight against powerful tobacco companies. Monthly, sustaining donations fund our powerful advocacy campaigns and legal fights, extensive research to pinpoint problems and develop innovative solutions, proven youth engagement programs, and so much more! We've set a bold goal to add 250 new sustaining donors by September 29, the night of the 2021 Youth Advocates of the Year Awards. Join us that evening to celebrate this year’s Judy Wilkenfeld Award for International Tobacco Control Excellence honoree, Ms. Heran Borta, Director-General of Ethiopia’s Food and Drug Authority and an exemplary tobacco control leader. Since 2008, the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids has presented the Judy Wilkenfeld Award for International Tobacco Control Excellence to an advocate from a low- or middle-income country who has worked to significantly reduce tobacco use through policy advocacy. It is our highest international award, given in honor of the late Judy Wilkenfeld, an inspiring advocate whose expertise and devotion forever changed the world of tobacco control. To power our global fight to save lives, we need our most committed supporters to become sustaining donors. We are counting on you to step up. |
