Hello —

What we witnessed over the last few weeks in Afghanistan was truly harrowing. My thoughts are with the families of those who we lost, not only our brave U.S. armed forces, but also Afghan citizens who were working to build a better nation.

In the wake of this tragedy and a U.S. evacuation that airlifted 124,000 people out of Afghanistan, I’m proud of our state for opening our doors and hearts to our Afghan friends and allies seeking refuge.

If you’re like me and are looking for a way to support folks coming to our state, please consider making a donation to Project Worthmore — a nonprofit organization that helps refugees as they navigate a completely new life through their English Language Program, dental clinic, farm, and food program.

Unfortunately, the organization was burglarized last month and much of their supplies were stolen, so they could really use our help. We cannot allow one person’s hateful actions to stop us from helping our new neighbors.

If you can, please make a donation of any amount to Project Worthmore and support their work for our refugee neighbors. 100% of your donation will go toward this organization.

Thanks for your support on this.

With love,

John
