John – it’s hard to read so many tragic headlines after every weekend in this country.
The headlines tell a story that you already know: gun violence continues to increase starkly. In fact, we’re on track to have the deadliest year of gun violence in recent memory.
And it’s really frustrating. It makes me angry, John, because we know what has to be done to save lives from gun violence, but the Senate has failed to expand Brady Background Checks despite months of waiting. We can’t afford to wait any longer to pass common sense gun violence prevention legislation.
Will you add your name now and urge the Senate to expand and strengthen Brady Background Checks?
Ultimately, this epidemic isn’t about headlines, John. This is about real people who are being senselessly taken too soon. This is about families who will never see their loved one again, families like mine.
My mom was shot and killed when she opened the door to her home in 2003. In an instant, my family and our future was changed forever, but then we were forced to wait. We waited for 12 years before the man who killed my mom was finally convicted. I’m done waiting and I need your help to finally force action:
Will you add your name to our petition right now and urge the Senate to expand Brady background checks and finally save lives?
We know that expanded background checks will save lives and I’m done waiting for the Senate to act – aren’t you?
Thanks, John.
