Team, Gov. Greg Abbott is at it again. Just days after abortions were essentially BANNED in Texas, he's signed one of the WORST voter suppression bills in the country into law.

This is frightening, Team. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott just signed into law one of the worst voter suppression bills in the country! Texas Democrats fought hard to stop it, but were BULLDOZED. This horrendous 76-page law bans drive-thru voting and 24-hour voting, adds an ID requirement for mail-in voting, and makes it a felony for local election officials to proactively send mail-in ballot applications to voters.

This blatant attack on voting rights comes after many Texas counties expanded access during the pandemic – and Trump’s margin of victory significantly shrank in 2020. And Texas isn’t the first. The GOP is fighting in states nationwide to pass legislation that targets Black and brown voters and infringes on our freedom to vote. So far, they’ve put forth over 404 voter suppression bills in 49 states! Florida, Georgia, Arizona, and more states with Republican governors have already passed Jim-Crow style voting restrictions.

Team, this is the largest scale attack on voting rights we’ve seen in DECADES – and it’s being led by Republican governors like Greg Abbott. He’s set on winning by any means possible – even if it means undermining our Democracy.

But there is hope: next year we have the opportunity to beat Republicans like Abbott, turn states like Texas BLUE, and protect and expand voting rights everywhere!
