City Leaders Need To Hear From You!

Tomorrow: Join the Ride-Along & Rally

Let us know you'll be there - we need your help!

We're meeting by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow at locations around the city to ride Muni into City Hall together (details when you click below). This is a great opportunity to meet your district supervisor in person, and share why transit is important to you.

If you can't make the ride-alongs, please be at City Hall by 8:30, and bring ALL YOUR FRIENDS, to show people that transit is worth fighting for!

With the 2022 Muni Service Network proposals out, we know that no option is sufficient. We need to show Mayor Breed and our district supervisors that there are people ready to fight for the funding necessary to build the future of Muni.

Check the box for September 8 on the sign-up form. This is the time to show your support!

Today: Speak up for the T-Third!

Sign up to get talking points and to be notified when public comment starts today for the 4th Street Bridge transit-only lanes. We anticipate it will be around or after 2:00 p.m., but it's hard to tell before the meeting is underway.

The 4th Street Bridge has always been a pinch point for the T Third - since cars have shared the lanes with the train tracks at a bottleneck connection between Mission Bay and South of Market, T Third trains are frequently delayed. The T Third can't be made more reliable without this project. We remain concerned that the project doesn't go far enough, but it is at minimum absolutely necessary.

SFMTA's survey showed a lot of opposition to the project from neighbors, which outnumbered responses from regular riders. But riders as a group were very supportive of the project.

We need to make sure the SFMTA board hears from riders today about how important this project is.

September 10: East Bay Rally

Join our friends East Bay Transit Riders Union, Seamless Bay Area, Genesis, and SPUR Oakland for a rally in Latham Square in Oakland.

Riders, advocates and elected officials will be speaking about the importance of service restoration and transit priority. Masks will be required for this event in Latham Square, Oakland, one block from 12th St. Oakland City Center BART Station (14th St. exit).

Transit Talks: Safety, Climate, and the 2022 Muni Service Plan

2022 Muni Service Plan

Hear from Director of Transportation Jeff Tumlin and senior planning staff about the proposals for 2022 Muni service. Bring your questions!

Reducing Emissions, Improving Transit

Let's talk about the role of good transit in meeting our climate goals with Director Raphael of SFE, Planning Director Sarah Jones of SFMTA, and Engineer and Planner Theresa Whinery of Fehr & Peers.

Transit Safety For All

Join us for a panel discussion on innovative approaches to transit safety in the Bay Area, and how it must center the diverse experiences and needs of those who ride.

Nominate a Transit Hero

On October 1, we'll hold our 4th annual Rider First Awards party (outdoors, vaccinated, time and location coming soon), along with East Bay Transit Riders Union, Seamless Bay Area, and Friends of Caltrain.

We need YOUR nominations for people who have made life better for transit riders in the past year - a special bus driver, an effective advocate, whoever is responsible for the transit lanes or boarding island that makes your ride better and smoother (if you tell us what they did, we'll track down the people!).

Who is the hero you've seen, who cares about public transit and cares about the riders, and has taken action to improve our ride? Let us know!
