Folks,

For the last 40 years, right-wing Republicans and the Federalist Society have tried to rig a Supreme Court ruling against Roe v. Wade with a river of dark money pouring into our elections. It’s been the white whale Republicans have pursued with hundreds of extreme judicial nominations.

Well, the Supreme Court just signaled that they’re willing to throw out nearly 50 years of judicial precedent by refusing to block Texas’s abortion ban and allowing vigilantes to take away women’s constitutional rights. And the majority opinion would not have been possible without Trump and McConnell’s court-packing for the last four years:

Neil Gorsuch — who McConnell and Trump immediately installed after Merrick Garland was denied a hearing for 11 months under President Obama.

Brett Kavanaugh — who threatened Senate Democrats in his confirmation hearing of the country reaping the “whirlwind” and “consequences” of “what goes around comes around.”

And Amy Coney Barrett — who McConnell installed against the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s dying wish when 65 million Americans had already voted in an election that Republicans lost and Democrats decisively won by over 7 million votes.

Republicans stole two Supreme Court seats and severely politicized a third. They have thrown out the rulebook to rig the Court in their favor and overturn Roe v. Wade in all but name.

We must eliminate the filibuster and expand the Supreme Court. Add your name to my urgent petition if you agree.

I need to level with you, folks — if we brought up abolishing the filibuster or expanding the Court for a vote in the Senate tomorrow, it would fail.

That’s why I am committed to doing everything I can to expand our slim Democratic Senate majority in 2022. But right now, we need to take a stand and let my Senate colleagues know just how serious this is.

Add your name to my petition demanding the Senate abolish the filibuster and expand the Supreme Court. We need to do this to protect our democracy and preserve reproductive freedom. It’s that simple.

Thank you for your courage, your activism, and your compassion. We need them now more than ever.
