Imagine living each day in a cramped, filthy, cage. The wire-mesh enclosure has mangled your feet and worn your feathers thin. Your skin is raw and painful all over. You can’t even spread your wings.
Tragically, this is the nightmarish reality for egg-laying hens confined on factory farms. But today, we’re celebrating a groundbreaking win on their behalf. After months of intense campaigning and skillful negotiations led by the Open Wing Alliance, Yum! Brands—the largest fast-food company in the world—has committed to a global cage-free policy!
The scale of this commitment is massive. Yum! Brands owns KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and The Habit Burger Grill, and operates 50,000 locations in 150 countries. Globally, the brand will begin eliminating cages from its supply chain. This means that tens of millions of egg-laying egg hens will finally be able to spread their wings. 🐥
Animal advocates from all corners of the world came together to demand an end to cages for egg-laying hens. And it worked!
Your support is what fuels campaigns like this and helps us drive meaningful change for animals.
Together, we make a formidable team. I know that with you by our side, we can make abuse like this a thing of the past.
Thank you for persisting with us, and fighting for a kinder world.

P.S. I hope you’ll join me in taking a moment today to reflect on what we’ve just achieved! If you’re curious to learn more about how the Yum! Brands campaign unfolded, check out our latest blog for more details.
P.P.S. The momentum that has been generated for chickens over the past few weeks is deeply inspiring. We’re excited to keep building on this progress, together.
