It's time to get the New Orleans economy back on track. That means reopening businesses and getting customers through the doors. If you're a local business owner, please don't wait to reopen.
If you're looking for help reopening or making up for lost revenue because of the hurricane, know that the Small Business Administration ([link removed]) is offering loans to small businesses have been impacted by Hurricane Ida. Even if you don't own a business, you still have an important role to play in rebuilding our local economy. Please, shop local.
Many businesses are already open. You can find some of them here ([link removed]) . Thank you to these businesses and their workers for providing crucial necessities throughout the aftermath of the storm!
If you are still out of town and eager to come back, please do. We want you here and we want you to be able to get your business back to normal. Please note, however, that the rebuilding process is still very much underway. Not all services are back to normal, and there is still considerable damage from the storm to be dealt with. When you do return, be careful and stay safe.
We will get through this together. Just as we will repair our homes, we will repair our economy. Supporting local businesses is the first step.
Sincerely,
Mayor LaToya Cantrell
