Friends,

In just a moment, and for the last time, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to help me defeat this Republican-led recall attempt in California. Please give me a chance to explain why this request – especially today – is so important.

Here is the truth:

One week from tonight this recall will be over, but we still have a lot of work to do.

Our job over the course of the next seven days is to make sure that everyone who wants to vote no on this recall does so before it's too late.

That takes financial resources.

So we are hoping for as many donations as we can possibly get between now and Thursday, which is the last chance for us to put our money to work over the final weekend and through Election Day.

So here is the part where I ask… for the last time:

Can I count on you to make a contribution to help me defeat this partisan, Republican-led recall before it is too late? I would not ask if it were not so terribly important.
