Friend,
Yesterday was Labor Day, but still it’s not too late to speak up for workers’ rights.
Congress is currently considering the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, the most significant pro-labor legislation since the National Labor Relations Act became law in 1935.
The PRO Act would restore the right to join a union and help workers negotiate safer workplace conditions, higher wages, and better benefits. While it passed the House of Representatives earlier this year, the Senate has yet to take it up for a vote.
Act now: Urge the Senate to pass the PRO Act to support stronger unions, better wages, and safer workplaces: [link removed]
The labor movement’s hard-fought victories have given us weekends, the 40-hour workweek, paid vacation, sick leave, work breaks, and bans on child labor. Their contributions have helped workers provide for their families and saved lives.
Despite these accomplishments, wealthy corporations and Republican politicians have spent recent decades systematically eroding the power of union rights across our nation. These efforts have fueled economic and racial inequality and made workplaces more dangerous.
Corporate interests are plotting to spend millions of dollars to defeat the PRO Act, but we can’t let them succeed. Working families are the backbone of this country, and together, we have the power to make history by getting the PRO Act to President Biden’s desk.
Tell your senators to support union rights and working families by passing the PRO Act: [link removed]
Take action: [link removed]
