John, Texas Governor Greg Abbott just signed one of the most draconian and restrictive voter suppression bills we’ve seen yet. This new legislation:
-- RESTRICTS early voting hours.
-- CUTS local options for casting ballots such as accessible drive-thru voting.
-- RESTRICTS mail-in voting.
-- Allows partisan poll watchers UNPRECEDENTED access to polling places.
These provisions are purposefully designed to make it harder for Texans -- especially Texans of color -- to exercise their sacred right to vote.
To fight back, we’re suing Texas and doubling down on our efforts to get more Latinos registered and mobilized. If you’re ready to join us, will you chip in now? [[link removed]]
“A thriving, healthy democracy demands maximum participation by all eligible voters. It’s time lawmakers stop the assault on voting rights and instead compete for our votes with ideas.”
-- Maria Teresa Kumar, CEO of Voto Latino
John, we can’t allow the GOP to capitalize on Donald Trump’s Big Lie to tear down our democracy.
With your help, we can stop them: Will you donate today to help Voto Latino defend voting rights and mobilize Latino voters across the country? [[link removed]]
