I was most pup-ular dog at the park…

John,

My daddies tell me that 2020 and 2021 have been rough. And I believe them! Normally they’d both be on the road or traveling for work. But they’ve been home now for quite some time, and while I loved it at first, I’m starting to think it might not be a good thing.

I like to listen into Dad 1’s work calls – you might know him as Seth, Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer at LGBTQ Victory Fund. And he sounds pretty worried. I’m not quite sure, but I do hear him on the phone saying they’re keeping a careful eye on the 2021 budget (whatever’s happening, it’s worse than the time I ate a box of cupcakes, half a dozen bagels and a fly trap), and Dad hasn’t been traveling to his normal fundraising events as much. I’m doing my best to keep his spirts up by being my adorable self, but I know what would really put a smile on his face: hitting Victory Fund’s goal! Raise your paw and help Dad hit the Dog Days of Summer goal today!

Dad’s a bit of a work-a-holic, and he’s been so busy trying to fill this budget gap that he barely has time to take me to the dog park. But if we can hit this important goal, anything’s paw-sible. Not only will I get to go play, but Victory Fund will be able to support the huge number of LGBTQ candidates running for office right now. Will you help us out and donate towards our Dog Days of Summer Goal today?

Thanks fur everything,

Georgia

Subject: 🐶days of summer… (with pictures!)🐾🐾

We’re well into the dog days of summer, John. While the calendar tells me summer’s almost over, the heat certainly won’t be leaving anytime soon. These days are typically associated with the hottest days of the summer and a time of calamity (and from where my pup Georgia and I are sitting, the hot part is certainly correct).

Here’s Georgia enjoying some fun in the sun:

Bigots vs. LGBTQ candidates

But here’s what the dog days of summer mean for me: our fundraising slows way down. In a normal year, people are enjoying the last days of summer vacation, so they’re not likely to answer emails or attend events. Granted, this year has been anything but normal.

As a result of the pandemic, we’re tentatively restarting our in-person events, including our high-dollar fundraisers and candidate campaign events. While we’re back on the road for the time being, the uncertainty means Victory Fund is facing a budget shortfall – and that’s certainly a calamity for our amazing LGBTQ candidates. If we don’t hit our Dog Days of Summer goal, we won’t have enough money to support them all. Pitch in today and help us hit our Dog Days of Summer Goal by September 10!

Here’s what’s at stake: Victory Fund has OFFICIALLY endorsed 149 candidates this year – with even more endorsements to come! We’re fighting to preserve LGBTQ majorities at all levels of government and FLIP anti-equality state legislatures. Not to mention all our invaluable incumbents that we MUST protect!

But with in-person events restarting and a fundraising slow down approaching, I’m worried we’ll fall short on Election Day. Make an extra special donation for my pup Georgia and help us hit our Dog Days of Summer goal!

Georgia and I appreciate your support!
