Indivisibles,

If you read Leah’s email Sunday, you’ll know that we’ve found ourselves in
a big moment: We have an opportunity to leverage the fight around recovery
and budget reconciliation to win on some massive progressive priorities.

After conservative Democrats in the House attempted to revolt against the
prevailing strategy supported by progressives and Democratic leadership,
we now have something that really ups the urgency: a deadline. We need to
ensure that the transformative reconciliation package is ready to go by
September 27 and that it includes all our top priorities.

So we’re shifting into this new fight with momentum in the House and a
strong progressive bloc on our side. Read on to hear more about what that
means for our plans this month, or if you’re already on board, [ [link removed] ]click

How do we win?

To win in this fight, we’re going to be tackling the issue from a few
different angles to maximize our chances of success. We’ve identified four
main pieces of work it’ll take to pass a bold package:

* A massive, nationwide push to ensure every single member of Congress,
in both houses, knows their constituents demand a budget that invests
in people -- with investments in climate, the care economy, housing, a
pathway to citizenship, and expanded access to low-cost prescription
drugs and Medicare.

* Accountability for the ten conservative Democrats who’ve already tried
to tank reconciliation efforts in the House.

* Lifting up and highlighting the power of progressive Dems in the
House, whose voting bloc strategy has put us in a strong position to
get real wins for the people.

* Direct outreach with members of Congress who sit on the most
influential committees in this process: the Ways & Means, Energy &
Commerce, and Education & Labor Committees.

What’s our plan of action?

We have an opportunity to make a huge impact in this fight -- but we can
only win if we throw real weight behind our principles. Luckily, this
movement already knows what it takes to win big on important issues. And
it’s going to take all our tried-and-true tactics to deliver a truly
transformational recovery package.

With the news shifting so quickly, we’re still nailing down our final
plans to win before the September 27 deadline. Here’s what we know right
now:

* Driving constituent phone calls to congressional offices is always one
of our key tactics, and it’s no different this time. The more our
elected officials hear about how important this is, the less they’ll
be able to act like it’s not a big deal.

* We’re constantly updating our web resources to ensure that
Indivisibles have access to the latest news and policy guidance and
keeping our calls to action accessible to get massive participation
nationwide.

* Digital and print ads are a staple in our toolkit -- especially in key
districts where we really need an elected official to hear the will of
the people. From driving more activist energy to garnering press
attention, ads like these will make a huge difference.

* Sending targeted text messages to activists makes it simple and
convenient to call a congressional office, attend an upcoming event,
and more. We’ll be reaching out to people wherever they are so we can
keep building a movement for a strong reconciliation package.

How can you help?

All those tactics we mentioned up above? It’s simply the truth that every
one of them costs us money -- from the fees we pay for web hosting and
texting tools to the price of ads to all the work that goes into making
all these resources available and publicizing them widely.

Right now, as we’re finalizing our plans, the best way you can help us get
a move on before the September 27 showdown is by [ [link removed] ]donating $10 to fund
all the tools, tactics, and actions it’s going to take to win massive
change for the people. Grassroots funding is crucial to our success, and
that means we rely on people like you to make all our work possible -- and
the earlier you can give, the more resources we’ll have to work with in
advance of the deadline.

We know this might seem like a sudden shift when we’ve spent so much time
talking about the big democracy fights recently. But reconciliation has
been bubbling away in the background for months, and now that it’s
starting to boil we’re giving it some more of our attention. And don’t
forget that these fights go hand in hand: The investments in people that
we’re demanding will make it easier, safer, and more accessible for
everyone to participate in our democracy. Let’s get to work on making it
happen.

In solidarity,
Indivisible Team
