John,
The imagination of a child is often a truly unique thing. Children see things with a different perspective. As with all The Trust for Public Land’s Community Schoolyards™ projects, students themselves help design the new park space.
In fact, our dynamic participatory design process includes students, teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to help design a transformative green space that meets the community's needs.
The result?
Designs featuring beautiful and unique outdoor spaces brimming with one-of-a-kind artwork, super fun play areas, gardens, ball courts, plenty of space to run around, and useful features for neighbors of every age.
But the participatory design process is just the first step of many to create these new and vibrant Community Schoolyards. And to keep the process going, we need your help to turn these designs into reality by making a gift today.
By 2025, our goal is to bring Community Schoolyards to 20 underserved school districts, improving park access for 6 million kids and adults. We know this is an ambitious goal, but with your partnership, we are confident in meeting all the challenges ahead. And that’s because we’ve already created nearly 300 Community Schoolyards projects across the country.
Your gift can be the difference between a child’s drawing and a brand-new schoolyard that they had a hand in dreaming up. Please help make their dreams come true.
Sincerely,
Kim Elliot
Director of Membership
P.S. Remember, due to the efficiency of our operations, every $1 contributed to The Trust for Public Land creates $3 for parks. That means your gift will have triple the impact! Please give today.
